The Rules
Rule 1 Games run every month starting on the first day of each month. Anyone can join the game at any time although the game commences at the beginning of each month. To be eligible each team must be registered 7 days in advance. Once registered you will automatically be entered in each game.
Rule 2 Each team shall consist of 40 celebrities ("the Team"). In the event of a death you can add any new celebrity to replace the deceased team member.
Rule 3 You may pick your Team from the attached list of celebrities ("the Libaray"). You may suggest alternative celebrities but we reserve the right to reject any celebrity you submit for whatever reason. Any celebrity suggested by you and approved by us will be added to the Library. Warning. We refuse absolutely to entertain any proposed celebrity, who at the beginning of a game is under the age of 18 years.
Rule 4 During each game you cannot alter the 40 celebrities (except in the event of the death of one).
Rule 5 You are awarded points for the death of a celebrity in the Team. We will accept the date/time of death as reported in the country/time zone of death but for the purposes of each game the date/time of death will be recorded at GMT. Obzcure Limited is the sole and final arbiter on the date and time of death of Team members.
Rule 6 You will collect 100 points less the celebrity’s age at death, e.g. Bob Hope is currently 97 and, if he were on your Team and were to die tomorrow, you would get 3 points (100-97). Celebrities over the age of 100 score negative.
Rule 7 The winner(s) will be the Team(s) with the highest number of points scored in the three (3) calendar months immediately preceding the end of each calendar month, e.g. at the end of December, the relevant scores will be those from 1st October to 31st December, and so on each month. Total prize money will be divided equally between the winning teams.
Rule 8 The points total of each Team will be entered in the super league as long as that Team remains a participant in deathleague. For the avoidance of doubt, super league exists in honour only – there are no prizes.
Rule 9 The winning team in each round agrees to allow the free use of their names, photographs and general location for publicity and news purposes.
Rule 10 We reserve the right to remove any Team from DeathLeague and/or SuperDeathLeague if the owner(s) of that Team commits any act, which does or could in any way cause loss to Obzcure Limited’s business, goodwill or reputation. In particular, Obzcure accepts no liability for any defamatory comment or publication by Team owners.
Rule 11 Copyright in these Rules and point structure is the sole property of Obzcure Limited. Single copies of these Rules may be printed off by each entrant for their use in connection with DeathLeague or SuperDeathLeague, but otherwise no information or material relating to DeathLeague or SuperDeathLeague may be reproduced or transmitted in any form without the prior written consent of Obzcure Limited.
Rule 12 Obzcure Limited reserves the right to refuse to accept any entry which in its opinion does not comply with the Rules or which contravenes the spirit of the Competition. Obzcure Limited reserves the right to amend and/or waive these Rules or any part thereof at any time and entrants agree that no liability shall attach to Obzcure Limited as a result thereof, and that the exercise of such discretion shall not result in any compensation being payable or paid to any entrant. It is a condition of entry to DeathLeague that these Rules are accepted as binding and that the entrant agrees to abide by these Rules.
